EVANSVILLE (WSIL) -- Lance Jones scored five of his fifteen points in the final thirty-nine seconds of overtime to lead Southern Illinois past Evansville 64-60.
"He was attacking downhill," SIU Head Coach Bryan Mullins said. "I know he was frustrated with some of the turnovers throughout the game and he's a winner. He's a tough kid, he makes big plays and never shies away from the moment. Stepped up and made huge free throws too so I'm really proud of Lance."
"With the help my teammates and coaches, telling me to stay poised," Jones said. "That is something I work on after practice and in shoot around and stuff like that so when I got up there it was just me and the rim and my confidence."
Marcus Domask led the Salukis with twenty-two points.
SIU won it's third road game and sixth straight game.
