(WSIL) -- Summer might be in full swing, but local school districts are already preparing for the start of the school year. Right now, there's a need in southern Illinois to hire staff.
The IRS said Monday it would start accepting 2021 federal tax returns on Monday, January 24.
Face-to-face classroom options will return to Rend Lake College this summer and fall, as Covid-19 vaccines continue to roll out.
In a statement posted to its Facebook page Tuesday, the board said it had been discussing the use of shields in lieu of masks with educators and other 鈥渟takeholders,鈥� but that state health officials recommend face coverings and social distancing instead.
This comes after dozens states said it would be unsafe for students to return until the summer or fall. Only a few states have considered earlier openings.
The University of Kentucky has canceled in-person classes for the remainder of the spring semester in response to the new coronavirus.
