1 dead after vehicle hits deer

ROSSINGTON, Ky. (WSIL) -- One person is dead after a vehicle hit a deer in western Kentucky on Wednesday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said their deputies, along with deputies with the Ballard County Sheriff's Office, responded to the 11000-block of Ogden Landing Road on April 9, at 9:17 p.m. for a report of an ATV which crashed.

Authorities said first responders started CPR on the driver of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was then taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old Javen Bell. Authorities said he was driving a Slingshot motorcycle and hit a deer as he was driving west on Ogden Landing Road.

Assisting the McCracken County Sheriff's Office was the Ballard County Sheriff's Office, West McCracken County Fire Department and Randy's Towing.
