MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Mo. -- Another black bear was spotted in the region on Sunday.Â
According to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office, the bear was seen north of Charleston by County Roads 220 and 217.
Deputies urge residents who may cross paths with the bear to stay a significant distance away and not try to engage with it.Â
The Missouri Conservation Department will continue to track the bear and monitor the area.Â
"Your safety and the safety of the bear are our top priorities," said the sheriff's office on Facebook. "Let's work together to keep our community and wildlife safe!"Â
The sighting comes as the latest in a slew of bear sightings that have excited the region over the last month.Â
