MARION, Ill. -- Three of the four correctional officers are no longer employed with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office after an incident with an inmate was investigated.
A complaint filed for the incident which took place on June 28, led county officials to investigate where four correctional officers were seen taking an inmate to another area of the building.
The incident in question was caught on security footage and released by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office earlier stated the information provided to them described the event as involving excessive use of force by a Correctional Officer.
On July 11, Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich confirmed to News 3, three of the four correctional officers involved in the complaint are no longer with the sheriff's office.
One of the three now former correctional officers was identified as Jeffrey Stallings. According to online court records, Stallings currently faces Misconduct and Aggravated Battery charges.
Stallings is due back in court in Williamson County for a preliminary hearing on August 14.
