CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Three former Salukis are heading to Paris in the hunt for gold.

Three athletes competing in this year's Summer Olympics were once a part of teams at Southern Illinois University.

First, DeAnna Price makes the games for the third time. She will represent the US in the Hammer Throw.

Next, Raven Saunders will appear in the games, also for the third time. Saunders is registered for Team USA in the Shot Put.

Finally, Celia Pulido will make her first appearance in the Games this year. She will participate in Paris swimming for Team Mexico.

"Once a Saluki, always a Saluki," wrote the school on Facebook. "Good luck in Paris!"

News 3 wishes these former students the best of luck in this year's games.
