19 new cases of COVID-19 in southern Illinois

(WSIL) -- Health departments across southern Illinois are reporting 19 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Franklin County:

  • New Cases: 9
  • Total Cases: 4549
  • Total Deaths: 66

Jackson County:

  • No new cases today

White County:

  • Female: 1 in their 40’s

White County has had a total of 1,793 lab-confirmed positives, including 27 deaths.

Williamson County:

  • New Cases:  9
  • Total Cases: 7633
  • Total Deaths: 123

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 1,741 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 30 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,354,967 cases, including 22,223 deaths across the state.

A total of 9,908,489 vaccines have been administered.
