2 correctional officers in Illinois test positive for COVID-19

(WSIL) -- The number of positive cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Illinois now stands at 1,865.

State officials say two correctional officers are among the 330 new cases released Wednesday. Those two officers from Stateville Correctional Center are recovering at home. One inmate there has also tested positive and is now in isolation, recovering at a hospital.

A contractual worker at Sheridan Correctional Center has also tested positive.

Both facilities are now on a 14-day lockdown as a precaution.

35 counties in Illinois are now reporting cases of the coronavirus. There have been 19 deaths.
