Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

2 new COVID-19 cases in Jefferson County

MT. VERNON (WSIL) -- Jefferson County Health Department has reported two new cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 in the county.

The health department says one of the positive cases is a man in his 40s; the other is a woman in her 20s. Both are currently isolating in their homes.

Health officials are investigating and talking with those that may have encountered the two individuals before their diagnosis.

Currently, the is reporting 16,422 cases of COVID-19, including 528 deaths.
