SIKESTON (WSIL) -- The annual kicks off Wednesday night.
The rodeo has made some including: new cleaning protocols, health and safety training for employees and vendors, sanitizing stations and screenings.
The event starts at 7:00 p.m. and features
Organizers say while the event is fun for the participants and fans, it also brings the community together.
"People get pumped up for not only our rodeo, but our entertainment. But I also think they know what this cause can do for our community and what we can accomplish when they chip in. I mean this is the communities rodeo and we're proud to be able to put in on for everybody," said 2020 General Chairman Travis Deere.
Those close to the organization say there's nothing like going to the Sikeston Rodeo.
"Right now, we're full rodeo, you know. You drive through town and it's going to be busy. You know everybody's excited. It's Christmas time to us. This is Christmas Southeast Missouri. And we can't wait to kick it off," said Co-Chairman Jeremiah Quick.
Rodeo Entertainer Justin Rumford added, ""People, I found out, in Sikeston, Missouri, like to have a good time. There's absolutely nothing like the Sikeston Rodeo. I travel year-round, so this is one of my favorite rodeos."
The rodeo kicks off it's concert series with Nelly. The rest of the week features performances by Aaron Lewis, Cody Johnson, and Joe Nichols.
