5 days, 100 new COVID-19 cases in Williamson County

(WSIL) -- The number of new COVID-19 cases in southern Illinois continues to grow.

One of the largest spikes is in Williamson County where 102 new cases have been reported since Sunday. That's 20-percent of the total number of cases reported in the county since the pandemic began.

The Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department says it's currently investigating a COVID-19 outbreak at a long term care facility.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Females: One teenager
  • Males: One teenager, one in their 20s, three in their 30s, two in their 40s, one in their 60s and one in their 70s

To date, there have been 215 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Franklin County. According to Bi-County Health Department, 112 of the positive cases have recovered.

GALLATIN COUNTY

  • One female in her 60s

Egyptian Health Department says the individual is currently hospitalized. There have been 53 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Gallatin County, including two deaths.

HAMILTON COUNTY

  • One male in his 50s

There have been 39 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Hamilton County. One person is currently hospitalized and six others are isolating at home.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her teens, one in her 20s, one in her 30s and one in her 40s

To date, there have been 746 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including 20 related deaths. Health officials say 92 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One under the age of 13 and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his 70s
  • Long term care outbreak: 2 new resident cases (one at each facility)

Jefferson County has had 325 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 21 deaths. Currently, 78 active cases are in isolation.

JOHNSON COUNTY

  • Male: One in his 30s, one in his 60s and one in his 70s

There have been 73 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County. Twelve of those cases are currently active.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • One female in her 40s

Massac County has had 43 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Six cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • Female: Two in their 60s, one in her 70s and three in their 80s
  • Male: One in his 20s, one in his 80s and one in his 90s
  • Long term care outbreak: Six additional positive residents

To date, there have been 198 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Perry County, including three deaths. Health officials say 79 of the positive cases are currently active.

PULASKI COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 50s
  • Male: One in his 20s and one in his 50s

There have been 101 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County, including one death. As of Thursday, nine cases were active.

RANDOLPH COUNTY

  • Nine new cases for Thursday, Aug. 13

There have been 504 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including seven deaths, in Randolph County. Health officials say two people are recovering in the hospital while 53 others are currently recovering at home.

SALINE COUNTY

  • One female in her 30s

Egyptian Health Department says the woman is at home in isolation. Thee have been 135 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths, in Saline County.

UNION COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s
  • Male: One in his 40s, Four in their 50s, one in his 60s and one in his 70s

Union County has had 324 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 20 related deaths. Southern Seven Health Department says 54 of the positive cases are currently active.

WAYNE COUNTY

  • Female: Two in their 20s, one in her 30s and one in her 40s

There have been 69 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wayne County, including two deaths. Health officials say 15 people are currently isolating at home while 52 others have recovered.

WHITE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 50s, one in her 60s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his teens

Egyptian Health Department says White County has had 80 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Females: One teenager, four in their 20s, three in their 30s, six in their 40s, three in their 50s and one in their 60s
  • Males: Four teenagers, two in their 20s, four in their 30s, one in their 40s, one in their 50s and one in their 60s

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health reported 31 new cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County on Thursday.

To date, there have been 504 confirmed cases, including six deaths, in the county. Bi-County Health says, of the positive cases, 290 have recovered.
