Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 22.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 14.0 feet Friday,
April 25.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

70% of Illinois residents 65+ vaccinated, further reopening delayed

(WSIL) -- Seventy percent of Illinois residents 65 and older have now received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine in Illinois.

A total of 5,801,871 vaccines have been administered in Illinois as of Tuesday night, including 367,782 for long-term care facilities.  

That is one of the metrics needed to be met in order to move into Governor JB Pritzker's "Bridge Phase," but rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations will prevent the state from moving forward.

Before reaching the “bridge� phase, public officials will have to see a sustained decrease in virus transmission over the course of at least 10 days.

from the Illinois Department of Public Health show an increase in new hospital admissions, hospitalized patients and daily COVID-19 cases.

As of Tuesday night, 1,413 people in Illinois were hospitalized with COVID-19, with 294 patients in intensive care units and 123 patients on ventilators. The seven-day average of total hospitalizations is 1,341, the highest since an average of 1,425 was recorded Feb. 27.

Health officials continue to urge all residents to continue to mask up, socially distance, and avoid crowds to reduce transmission and bring the metrics back in line to transition to the Bridge Phase.
