...Breezy South Winds Expected Today...

South winds will increase today becoming sustained 15 to 25 mph
this afternoon along with gusts of 30 to 40 mph. The strongest
gusts are expected to occur across southeast Missouri into
southwest Illinois.

Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. A few tree limbs
may also be blown down. High profile vehicles may encounter some
driving difficulty, especially on east-west roads.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro and Plumfield.

.Levels will continue to slowly fall on the Big Muddy River, but
remain above flood stage through next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Carbondale’s Com-Pac steps up during pandemic to produce COVID-19 kits

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- A local company has been working to fight COVID-19 during the pandemic.

Com-Pac has been working throughout the pandemic to manufacture COVID-19 kits.

The facility is making 40,000-50,000 kits a day, which are shipped to health care facilities around the country. The kits are made for transporting COVID-19 samples.

The company, a supplier of plastic bags for various medical, commercial and consumer uses, was able to configure its existing equipment to quickly adjust for the pandemic.
