REND LAKE (WSIL) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is extending facility closures at Rend Lake as Illinois' stay-at-home order continues.
All Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) facilities in the Rend Lake Refuge and sub-impoundment ramps will remain closed, according to a release Saturday morning.
All camping reservations made through May 17 have been canceled and customers will be offered full refunds. IDNR closed parts of Rend Lake along with dozens of other state parks and historical sites.
Below is a list of the following places at Rend Lake that will open, remain open or are closed:
BOAT RAMPS (OPEN as of April 25)
- Cypress View
- Dam West
- Jackie Branch
- Rend Lake Conservancy Ramp (north of Rt. 154)
- South Marcum
- Turnip Patch
BOAT RAMPS (opening May 1)
- North Boat Ramp (near the resort)
- Sailboat Harbor
- Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park
BOAT RAMPS (CLOSED as of April 25)
- Gun Creek Ramp
- Ina Boat Ramp
- North Marcum
- North and South Sandusky Boat Ramps.
DAY USE AREAS (OPEN)
- Dam West
- Rend Lake Bike Trail (USACE managed sections are open)
- IDNR Sections of bike trail to open May 1.
