PINCKNEYVILLE (WSIL) -- Dozens came out in Pinckneyville for a craft and vendor Fall Bazaar on the Town Square Saturday afternoon.
Local sorority Delta Theta Taw sponsors a Bazaar each year to help raise money for scholarships and other local non-profits. Their annual events are normally held inside as a Holiday Bazaar, but due to COVID-19, organizers pushed-up the event date and held it as a "Fall Bazaar" outside.
Organizers say fundraising efforts for nonprofits have taken a hit this year with many having to cancel their events altogether.
"But we still want to support our community and these events are really crucial to having those funds available for support," says Delta Theta Taw member Kimberly Leonard. "So events like this, if you can come to them, they are going to help out our community and help us reach our fund-raising goals which we wouldn't be able to do without an outdoor event like this today."
Fall and Christmas Decorations were on sale, along with crafts, jewelry, and other gift items. Money raised from the event will stay in the community.
