Five counties in southern Illinois are reporting cases

WSIL -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 28 additional cases of COVID-19 Sunday with health officials reminding residents to observe best practices while enjoying the Labor Day holiday.

Franklin County:

  • Females: One child and one in their 60’s.
  • Males: None

To date, there have been 376 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19, including one related death. Of these positive cases, 239 have recovered in Franklin county.

Jackson County:

  • Females: One under 10, four in 20s, one in 60s, one in 80s and one in 90s.
  • Males: Two in 20s, two in 30s, and one in 60s.

Health officials say the are currently monitoring 181 active cases. The county has had a total of 1,084 confirmed cases to date, including 23 related deaths. Health officials add 880 individuals released from isolation, including 9 on Sunday.

Saline County:

  • Male: One in his 30’s, at home and in isolation.

To date, Saline County has had a total of 187 lab confirmed positives, including three deaths.

White County:

  • Females: One in her 30's and one in her 60's.

White County has had a total of 144 lab-confirmed positives.

Williamson County:

  • Females: One teenager, one in their 20’s, and three in their 40’s.
  • Males: One teenager, one in their 20’s, one in their 30’s, one in their 40’s, and one in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 1059 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county including 23 related deaths. Of these positive cases, 564 have recovered in Williamson county.
