Health department: Gilster-Mary Lee employee tests positive for COVID-19

CHESTER (WSIL) -- An employee at the Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. office in Chester has tested positive for the coronavirus COVID-19, according to the Randolph County Health Department.

In a , health officials said the person is a Missouri resident who is being monitored by the Perry County, Missouri Health Department.

The Randolph County Health Department is working with both the Perry County, Missouri and Perry County, Illinois health departments to notify any close contacts.

Employees who may have been in close contact with the individual have been asked to stay home in isolation for 14 days and monitor their symptoms.

"Gilster-Mary Lee Corporation will continue to interview employees and monitor temperatures to determine if anyone else is at risk. GLM Corporation is working closely with the Department of Public health and following all the appropriate next steps to ensure employee and public health," stated the release.

The Randolph County Health Department says currently 29 people in the county have been tested for COVID-19. The results have all been negative.
