MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- According to the Jackson County Health Departments, two additional residents have died due to COVID-19.
Those include a female in her 80s and a male in his 40s.
The health department is also reporting three new confirmed cases on Sunday:
� Female � One preteen/teen, and one in her twenties;
� Male � One in his forties.
All acquired the disease through close contact with a known case or through transmission in the community, and are being placed in isolation.
As of June 14, there have been 319 confirmed cases in Jackson County, including fourteen deaths related to the disease.
The health department says five more individuals were released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines, bringing the total released
to 268 individuals.
Currently, 37 active cases are being managed.
