MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- A Marion High School tradition is still going strong,
just a little later than normal.
Marion's Homecoming parade was Friday afternoon, but it's usually in October.
Because of COVID, football was pushed to the spring, and so was the parade.
Vice Principal of Marion High School Nate Addison said the parade is a bit of normalcy for student and boosts morale.
"We've been lacking a little bit of positivity and school spirit. We finally have this energy back in the building. The energy for the students and the staff, everybody comes together during these times and it's great to have this feeling back in the school again," said Addison.
Carbondale hosted Marion in the first Friday night football matchup of the unique season.
