(WSIL) -- The Mayfield Board of Education passed a resolution to help employees in quarantine.

The resolution, issued by the Kentucky Board of Education, allows employees who have been vaccinated or are exempt to use quarantine leave.

The regulation provides for paid leave for full- and part-time school district staff who are ordered to quarantine by a treating medical professional, a local health department, the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) or the employing school district.

The additional leave prevents employees from having to use their limited personal or sick leave days during quarantine.

The resolution, however, covers only the school employee and does not cover if a child is quarantined.
