SPRINGFIELD (WEEK) - The Illinois Department of Public Health on Wednesday reported more than 11 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state.
The state health department said 59,494 doses were administered on Tuesday, bringing the total to 11,049,665 as of midnight.
The state said 49% of all Illinois adults are fully vaccinated and 66% have received at least one dose.

Meantime, the health department reported 1,139 new confirmed and probable coronavirus infections on Wednesday, bringing the state's total to 1,378,388 cases.
The state said 27 more people died from COVID-related illnesses, raising the death toll to 22,676.
There was a modest decline in hospitalizations over a 24-hour period, with 1,395 people in the hospital with COVID-19, from 1,419 on Tuesday. The health department said there were 350 people in intensive care units and 180 on ventilators.
