(WSIL) -- New cases of COVID-19 were reported in southern Illinois Wednesday.
Health officials announced additional cases in Jackson, Jefferson, Perry and Williamson counties.
Jackson County
- Female in her 20s
There have been 339 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including 19 related deaths. Twenty active cases are currently being managed.
Jefferson County
- Females: One in her 40s, one in her 50s and one in her 70s
- Males: One in his 40s
Jefferson County Health Department reported four new cases of COVID-19, bringing the county's total number of cases to 114. Of those, five cases are currently active and in isolation.
Perry County
- One female in her 40s
There have been 60 cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Perry County. Seven cases are currently active.
Williamson County
- Males: Two in their 70s
To date, there have been 137 confirmed cases, including four deaths, in Williamson County. Of the positive cases, 84 have recovered.
On Wednesday, the (IDPH) announced 980 new cases of COVID-19, including 36 additional deaths, in the state.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 149,432 cases, including 7,099 deaths, in Illinois.
State health officials says, as of Tuesday night, 1,518 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 331 patients were in the ICU, and 151 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
