(WSIL)--A local lawmaker criticizes Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker's COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan.
Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) called on the Governor to improve access to the vaccine throughout ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois.
Bryant said the vaccine inequity is a problem in Illinois, and those with life threatening conditions who want the vaccine should be prioritized.
"I say let's move to the people who do want it, and let's get those people vaccinated. And Governor Pritzker, we need you to make sure this is rolling out in an effective way, in a fair way, and in an efficient way," said Bryant.
Bryant's remarks come after Illinois was ranked 45th in vaccine distribution across the country by the New York Times.
