Williamson, Jackson counties top daily COVID-19 cases in southern Illinois

(WSIL) -- Sixteen southern Illinois counties reported new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.

Williamson and Jackson counties had the most new cases, with 25 and 20, respectively.

Franklin, Randolph and Union counties weren't far behind with 15 and 14 new cases.

Currently, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 327,605 cases of COVID-19, including 9,074 deaths, statewide.

ALEXANDER COUNTY

  • One female in her 30s

Alexander County has had 98 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department says 35 cases are currently active.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Female: One child under 10, one teen, one in her 20s, one in her 30s, one in her 50s and two in their 60s
  • Male: One child under 10, one in his 20s, two in their 30s, two in their 40s, one in his 60s and one in his 70s

In addition to 15 new cases of COVID-19, Bi-County Health Department also announced one additional death Wednesday.

Bi-County says a Franklin County woman over the age of 100, who was a resident of a long-term care facility in Williamson County, passed away.

There have been 719 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including seven deaths, in Franklin County. Bi-County says 445 of the positive cases have recovered.

GALLATIN COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s and one in her 40s
  • Male: One in his 40s, one in his 50s, one in his 60s and one in his 70s

Egyptian Health Department says all the individuals are currently at home in isolation. Gallatin County has had 104 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths.

HAMILTON COUNTY

  • Female: One teen, one in her 40s and two in their 50s
  • Male: One child, one in his 20s and two in their 40s

Hamilton County Health Department reported eight new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday. There have been 106 confirmed cases, including two deaths, in the county. The health department says one person is currently hospitalized, while 15 others are isolating at home.

HARDIN COUNTY

  • One female in her 40s

Hardin County has had 46 confirmed cases of COVID-19. ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department says 10 cases are currently active.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: One preteen, one teen, three in their 20s, two in their 30s and three in their 40s
  • Male: One under 10, one teen, five in their 20s, two in their 40s and one in his 50s

Jackson County Health Department reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.

There have been 1,375 confirmed cases, including 24 related deaths, in the county. The health department says 72 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s, one in her 50s and one in her 60s
  • Male: One under the age of 13, one in his 40s and one in his 80s

In addition to six new cases of COVID-19, Jefferson County Health Department also announced one additional death.

The health department says a man in his 80s, a long-term care resident, passed away.

To date, there have been 832 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 40 deaths, in Jefferson County. Heath officials say 97 active cases are currently in isolation.

JOHNSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s and two in their 50s
  • Male: One in his 20s, one in his 40s and one in his 60s

Johnson County has had 305 confirmed cases of COVID-19. ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department says 123 cases are currently active.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • One female in her 50s

There have been 131 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths, in Massac County. ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department says 49 cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s, one in her 40s and one in her 60s
  • Male: One under the age of 5, one in his 30s, one in his 60s and one in his 70s

Perry County has had 385 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 16 deaths. Health officials say 19 cases are currently active.

PULASKI COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s and two in their 40s
  • Male: One under the age of 10

There have been 211 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Pulaski County. ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department says 44 cases are currently active.

RANDOLPH COUNTY

  • 14 new cases for Wednesday, Oct. 14

Randolph County has had 1,097 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 14 deaths. Health officials say one person is currently hospitalized, while 92 others are recovering at home.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 50s
  • Male: One in his 20s, one in his 40s and one in his 50s

In addition to four new cases of COVID-19, Egyptian Health Department also reported one additional death in Saline County Wednesday.

Saline County has had 481 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including eight deaths.

UNION COUNTY

  • Female: One under 5, two in their 20s, two in their 30s, one in her 40s and one in her 50s
  • Male: One under 10, two in their 20s, two in their 30s, one in his 40s and one in his 50s

¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 in Union County Wednesday.

There have been 666 confirmed cases, including 21 deaths, in the county. ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven says 211 cases are currently active.

WHITE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 40s and one in her 60s
  • Male: One in his 50s

According to Egyptian Health Department, White County has had 217 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Female: Three in their 40s, three in their 50s, one in their 60s and one in their 70s
  • Male: Two teens, three in their 20s, four in their 40s, four in their 50s, two in their 60s, one in their 70s and one in their 80s

Bi-County Health Department reported 25 new cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County Wednesday. To date, there have been 1,623 confirmed cases, including 57 deaths, in the county.

Bi-County Health says 1,061 of the positive cases have recovered.
