(CNN) -- As COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to rise across the U.S., so is misinformation.
On Saturday, the United States' Food and Drug Administration issued this warning on Twitter: "You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y'all stop it."

It comes as Americans are being persuaded to reach for disproven treatments such as Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic typically used in livestock, to treat or ward off COVID-19.
In March, the FDA said that "taking large doses of Ivermectin is dangerous and can cause serious harm."
