...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate to major flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is now forecast to crest in moderate flood
stage near 28.5 feet Friday morning. At Murphysboro, the river is
cresting currently cresting in major flood stage near 36.4 feet.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate to Major flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 28.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.5
feet Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.6 feet on 05/02/2017.

GiveSI campaign raises over $230,000 for local non-profits

(WSIL) -- The people of southern Illinois were in the giving spirit on Tuesday. 

WSIL and the ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois Community Foundation partnered for the third annual GiveSI campaign, raising money for local non-profits. 

Through the generosity of our surrounding communities, the campaign brought in more than $230,000 for 100+ local organizations. 

This far exceeds the 2021 giving campaign, which raise more than $170,000.
