(WSIL) -- Every Thursday, we have a segment called Pets of the Week. It's when we share very lovable animals in our area, at shelters, looking for their forever home. Let's take a look at some of the pets were featuring this week.
We'll start with Annie, who is a female mix breed, on the larger side. She's said to be sweet and full of energy. Annie would probably flourish best with a big yard to play in. Unfortunately, Annie does not get along well with cats. You can learn more about this energetic girl by calling the Saline County Animal Control at 618-252-7859.
Here's a look at the animals currently available in our segment Pets of the Week.
Next is Sam, who loves to run and play in a big yard. Sam is a male, mixed breed, with a sweet personality but a lot of energy. He and Annie are both located at the Saline County Animal Control, but we're reassured that the pair are not bonded and will be happy living independently. You can reach the Saline County Animal Control to inquire about both Annie and Sam. You can reach them at 618-252-7859.
Lilly is our next loveable canine. She's not a puppy, but she's also not considered a "senior" animal. Lilly is just right and gets along with anyone. She's a medium size dog, weighing in at around 50 pounds. If you check out her picture, you can see her sweet face. Lilly is available at the McLeansboro Animal Control. You can learn more about her by calling 618-643-2723 ext. 7.
Our single kitty cat this week is George, a young male that has been vetted. George is a "talker," making sure you know he's around. His caretakers also say he is very sweet and has interesting markings. George is available at the Salem Animal Control, reachable at 618-822-6696.
Finally, we've got two male Guinea Pigs, available at the Franklin County Animal Control. These guys are your typical small pet and would require some standard supplies upon adoption. You can call 618-439-9197 for more information.
We appreciate our partnership with local shelters to help find these amazing animals their forever homes. Thank you for checking out our pets of the week.
