18-year-old seriously injured after singe-vehicle crash

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (WSIL) � An 18-year-old was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 10:18 p.m. on May 10, along I-55 near the 86.4 mile marker.

State police said the 18-year-old, from New Madrid, was driving a 2019 Kia Forte going south when it ran off the road, hit a guardrail and then flipped over.

The driver was taken to the St. Francis Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Police said the teen was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
