CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It was a chilly but quiet day across the region. High temperatures stayed below average. Calm but cold conditions will continue overnight. Temperatures will drop back down near freezing. If you've gotten a jump on your spring planting, you may want to protect any fragile vegetation.
Although it'll be chilly to kick off our Thursday, warmer conditions return by the afternoon. Highs will climb back up near average, into the low 60s. It will be a great day to be out and about, plenty of sunshine is expected.
Thursday is just the beginning of our warming trend. Temperatures slowly climb into the low to mid 70s by the weekend. Perfect for outdoor Easter egg hunts.
A few showers and storms can't be ruled out to our north through the weekend, but our next chance for widespread activity arrives next Monday and Tuesday.Â
