Murphysboro (WSIL) -- We're back in the animal shelters this week in hopes of finding some of our 4-legged friends their Furever Homes.

Meet Ariel, she is a 21 week old Shepard Mix and is looking for her "furever" family.

Diane Daugherty, President of the Board of Directors at St. Francis CARE, says, "She's a pretty good size for a puppy. We need for Ariel to get a forever home, as you can see with them playing, she's got lots of energy and she needs to be in somebody's backyard, she needs to be on somebody's couch and playing with a family of her own."

Ariel comes from a big family, a litter of twelve.

Daugherty elaborates, "We have adopted 7 and we still have 5 left, so Ariel is one of 5 that is our oldest puppy here."

The pups are full of energy and will require a lot of time and training, but Daughtery says adopting a puppy also has its benefits. "She going to get along with any other dog. At this age, she's going to get along with cats, kids, you know, she doesn't have any baggage coming with her at all. Nobody has mistreated her."

Ariel's adoption fee is $275 but she has already been spayed, is up to date on shots and has been microchipped. Daugherty just asks that you remember it's a life long commitment.

Daugherty says, "When they're returned, sometimes it's a good reason, somebody's allergic, but you know, if you're getting ready to move and you have a dog, this moving because the landlord doesn't allow pets, get another place. That's crazy to me, I wouldn't move someplace that doesn't allow my child, so I definitely wouldn't move someplace that doesn't allow my dog."
