...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

- At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 28.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.0
feet early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
30.7 feet on 01/26/1949.

JACKSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS (WSIL):

Update 7:08 p.m. -- Carbondale police have confirmed the plane crash is a single occupant female pilot who hit a transformer.

It happened聽on new Era Road near Cimco recycling.

The pilot sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.

Residents and businesses in the area are experiencing power outages.聽

The Federal Aviation Administration is taking the lead on the investigation.

Original story (February 12th at 6:40 p.m.) -- News 3 is working to learn more about an incident near the 九游体育 Illinois airport.聽

The sheriff's office confirms a plane crashed Saturday evening near the area and the Carbondale Fire Department is on scene.聽

As of 6:45 p.m. more than 2,800 are without power in Jackson County.聽

There's no word yet on if the plane crash and the power outage is related.聽
