ALSO PASS (WSIL) -- The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many area attractions, including the Bald Knob Cross of Peace.
The coronavirus hit just as the non-profit was entering its biggest revenue generating time of the year, forcing the cancellation of events and annual fundraisers.
"About 60-70% of our revenue for the whole year comes in during March, April and May," said Executive Director Teresa Gilbert. "So it's been a big hit for us."

"It's primarily a social media fundraiser. Most people will be giving through social media, through Facebook, but it's also set up to where those who prefer not to do that can either donate through the website or they can mail a check as well."
Gilbert reminds you that the Bald Knob Cross remains open for visitors, and the board continues planning fall events, including the annual in October, while considering government guidelines and social distancing protocols.
"We're hoping that event can happen. It's just a great time of family and fellowship and has come to be a tradition the past five years at the Cross."
