...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Calloway County man behind bars accused of choking a victim

Roger Thomas, 54

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) � Around midnight on Sunday, May 25th, deputies responded to a reported physical altercation on Jones Road.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Roger Thomas intentionally strangled the victim, but did not need medical assistance.  

Thomas was arrested and taken to the Calloway County Detention Facility. 

He faces charges of felony 1st degree strangulation and terroristic threatening. 

Thomas is set to be in court on Tuesday, May 27th, for arraignment.
