CARBONDALE (WSIL)--The recent rise in the price of goods has a direct impact on the Carbondale area.

The city's Dog Park was set to break ground last spring. But, because of the pandemic, construction has just begun.

After running the numbers-fencing will now cost about five-thousand more than expected. That's because building materials cost more because of the pandemic.

"We're in a position now where we really need more money. We really need the public to come in and help us get over this next hump and get all the fencing paid for and put up and the other materials we are going to need. The dog waste stations and all the signage, costs on all those things have gone up," said Friends of Carbondale Dog Park President, Jane Adams.

The dog park is paid for entirely by donations.
