Carbondale Warming Center expands shelter space amid dropping temperatures

CARBONDALE, ILL. (WSIL) -- The Carbondale Warming Center is expanding their shelter space amid cold local temperatures.

The center is located at 608 E. College Street in Carbondale. If you wish to use the center, you must show a valid ID. If you don't have an ID, you can go to the Carbondale Police Department and have them call the Carbondale Warming Center to verify identities. Guests can enter by 7 p.m., stay overnight, and leave the next morning at 8 a.m.  �

Extra donations are needed at this time with the influx of guests. Priority items are snacks, water, paper plates, paper towels, plastic utensils, cups, and toilet paper. The center is also in need of volunteers.Ìý
