...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 28.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.0
feet early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
30.7 feet on 01/26/1949.

Cold air stays a while

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Cold and windy conditions have fully set into the region, and will make for a chilly end to the weekend.

Despite plenty of sunshine today, temperatures will struggle to get out of the upper 20s. Winds will make it feel as cold as single digit temperatures at times. Winds will stick around all day, but will relax into the overnight hours.

High temperatures will gradually warm back into the low 40s by midweek. Meteorologist Jacie Brianne is back tonight to update your forecast.
