COBDEN, IL (WSIL) -- A community says goodbye to the patriarch of a longtime southern Illinois orchard.
Bill Flamm a member of the 4th generation of the Flamm Orchards family, died at his childhood home, July 6.
Flamm was born in 1937 in Cobden and was the last surviving member of his generation and an active member of the orchard throughout his life.
His long-time friend Wayne Sirles of Rendleman Orchards says he will be missed. "He was just a really good person and what I'd really like to say is that he actually has made a difference in a lot of peoples lives and has actually made the world a better place because he was part of it."
Bill Flamm was 83.
