.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Boil water order issued in Metropolis

METROPOLIS, Ill. (WSIL) -- A boil water order has been issued for water customers in Metropolis on Sunday.

The Metropolis Fire Department informed residents at 3:14 p.m. on January 26, about the boil water order.

The order was issued for areas including the hospital, Lindsey, Hilcrest, Marberry, Hilanoa and Cedar Lanes.

The fire department said customers must bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before consumption or cooking.

Fire officials urge you to not use water before boiling it if you are under the order.
