LAKE OF EGYPT, Ill. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: 2:39 p.m. -- The district said a boil water order has been issued for customers on Power Plant Road going west on Lake of Egypt Road to Route 37. Along Route 37, the boil water was also issued for those going south to Pulleys Mill Road and to Hudgens Road and west on Highway 148 to Sneed Road.
ORIGINAL: February 7, 12:22 p.m. -- The Lake of Egypt Water District informed the public on Friday afternoon about a water main which was hit and caused an outage.
The water district stated a contractor hit a water main. The district informed the public there was a water outage due to this as of 12:19 p.m. on February 7.
The district said they are working to resolve the situation and will have more information for the public as it becomes available.Â
They also stated a boil water order will be issued at some point as well.
