CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is back open after it temporarily closed down on Wednesday due to high winds.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - District 1 stated the ferry stopped service on March 5. Winds in the area were steady throughout the day with gusts hitting above 40 mph.
The ferry's operating schedule is from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily.
The Cave-in-Rock Ferry connects Illinois to Kentucky, from IL Route 1 in Hardin County to KY 91 in Crittenden County.
