ROCKFORD (WREX) � It might be a while before we start to see gas prices drop in southern Illinois.
According to GasBuddy, prices aren't expected to change too much before the 4th of July holiday.
"Our current gas prices likely won't change much by July 4, but remain stubbornly high, barring any major curveballs to supply and demand," Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, said.

Part of the reason for the continued high prices? More people hitting the road and causing a higher demand.
"According to GasBuddy data, gasoline demand last week eclipsed the prior week, when millions of Americans were gearing up for Memorial Day travel, not an easy feat, but highlights that economic conditions are ripe for continued growth in demand, contributing to prices holding at high levels," DeHaan said.
