.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Isolated boil water order issued for Carterville customers

CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- A boil water order is in effect for multiple customers along a few streets in Carterville.

The Carterville Water Department issued the isolated boil water order for the following customers...

  • 1100 Elders Farm Lane
  • 1201, 1300, 1308, 1314 and 1400 Shawnee Trail Street
  • 1200 Pin Oak Drive

Customers are to bring the water to a rolling boil for five minutes before use.

The boil order is in effect until further notice.
