FRANKFORT, Ky., (WSIL) -- Kentuckians are apparently rushing to register for the upcoming presidential election. According to Secretary of State Michael Adams, 24,536 Kentucky residents registered to vote in the month of September alone. Adams also points out that while these are the highest monthly totals for this year, it's down by more than 50-percent from the same time in 2020.
According to Adams' office, 47 percent of the total voters are registered as Republican. Adams says that is an .87 percent increase. On the Democratic side, registrants make up about 43 percent of the electorate, with an increase of approximately .03 percent increase. Another increase in a different field comes with the "Other" registration, which jumped by 4,435 voters, a 1.19 percent increase.
