CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- The Southern Illinois Music Festival returns for its 16th year, but things will look a bit different.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, plans for two fully staged operas, three orchestral programs and chamber music celebrating Beethoven were postponed.
Instead, a scaled down version of the festival will take place.
SIFest 2020 includes four separate programs, each performed twice, for a total of eight public performances.
Venues include Shryock Auditorium, ArtSpace 304, Congregation Beth Jacob and the Anna Arts Center.
Audiences will be limited to 40 or less, depending upon the venue. Seating will be general admission and with advance reservation only. All concert patrons must wear masks at all times.
Concert tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for students of any age, with payment by cash or check.
In addition, WSIL is proud to present four of the SIFest performances on our Heroes & Icons (H&I) channel.
Heroes & Icons (H&I) is available by antenna on channel 3.2 or on these cable systems:
- Mediacom: Channel 125
