21-year-old faces murder charge in connection to shooting incident

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: Dec. 24, 1:19 p.m. -- Police in Paducah said the victim has died in regards to the shooting incident which happened on December 22.

Police said the suspect in this case is Dorian Lewis, 21 of Paducah, and is now charged with murder. The original assault charge has been amended.

The victim was identified as Ben Hall Jr. who died in an out-of-state hospital.

ORIGINAL: Dec. 23, 12 06 p.m. -- A person was arrested in connection to a shooting which sent one to the hospital in critical condition.

The Paducah Police Department said officers responded to N. 8th Street and Campbell Street for a shooting at 5:41 p.m. on December 22.

Once officers got there, police said they found a man in the street which was shot twice in the upper torso.

Officers then started life-saving efforts on the man until medical staff arrived at the scene which then took the man to a local hospital. Police said the man was later taken to an out-of-state hospital for further treatment and was stated to be in critical condition.

Police later said detectives identified the shooter as Dorian Lewis, 21 of Paducah, which was arrested there at the scene.

Lewis was arrested and then taken to the McCracken County Jail and was charged with First Degree Assault.
