MOUNT VERNON, Ill. -- A 39-year-old was sentenced to 18 years to the Illinois Department of Corrections for gun charges.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said on January 29, 2023, they started an investigation into Brandon Stallings which was believed to be in possession of some guns. Authorities said he was also previously convicted as a felon.
A search warrant of a home by the Mount Vernon Police Department resulted in finding multiple guns.
Stallings was then arrested and later charged and convicted on possession of a firearms by a felon and armed habitual offender in Jefferson County.
On December 14, Stallings was sentenced to 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
