Authorities arrest one of two possible dangerous fugitives in Williamson County

MARION, Ill. -- Authorities have found one of two fugitives wanted for crimes in the Williamson County area.

Kody Smith

Kody Smith, 37 of Johnston City, was taken into custody by Williamson County Police on a possession of methamphetamine charge. He is 6'2" tall, weighing 200 lbs. with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Another fugitive wanted by the Williamson police currently remains unfound.

Norvel Avant

Norvel A. Avant, 42 of Herrin, is wanted on aiding/abetting/selling a stolen vehicle charge. He is 5'7" tall, weighing 190 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) wishes to remind the public to not attempt to apprehend or detain this individual as he is possibly dangerous.
