The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northwestern Williamson County in southern Illinois...
East central Jackson County in southern Illinois...

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 555 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over De Soto, or
near Carbondale, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Carbondale, Marion, Herrin, Carterville, De Soto, Crainville,
Cambria, Energy, Hurst, Bush, Whiteash, Williamson County Regional
Airport, Colp, and Spillertown.

This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between Mile Markers 49 and
58.

Colp, Ill. man found guilty of murder

MARION, Ill. -- A Colp man was found guilty of murder in a trial for a deadly stabbing case.

In late June, 2022, law enforcement responded to the 300-block of S. Johnson Street in Colp for a disturbance.

There they found聽a 30-year-old man with stab wounds. He was then taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect was 59-year-old Nathan Clark. He was arrested and charged with murder. He was then taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Jury trial started on October 3, 2023, for Clark. On Friday, the jury deliberated and found Clark guilty of murder.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for December 19, at 1:15 p.m. at the Williamson County Courthouse.
