DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) -- Illinois State Police (ISP) said officers with their Criminal Investigation Zone 7 division arrested Dylan Weeks, 23 of Du Quoin, on Wednesday, with the help of the Du Quoin Police Department.
ISP said Weeks faces multiple charges, which include three counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (Class 2 Felony) and three counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (Class 4 Felony).
State police said the arrest and charges are in connection with a deadly two-vehicle crash which occurred on March 17, 2024, along US Route 51 near Gasplant Road in Perry County, Illinois.
Weeks was the driver of a vehicle which crashed into another car at a high rate of speed, ISP stated. Authorities said a juvenile passenger in the vehicle with Weeks died at the scene.
A judge in Perry County issued the warrant for Weeks� arrest and law enforcement with ISP later took him into custody.
Weeks was then taken to the Perry County Jail.
Assisting ISP was the Du Quoin Police Department.
