KENNETT, Mo. (WSIL) -- A former Kennett Police Officer was arrested and faces multiple charges after law enforcement investigated a report of a domestic issues.
Police said former Kennett Police Officer James Fisher is facing multiple counts of domestic assault after an investigation with the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department.
According to online court records, Fisher faces two counts of felony domestic assault - 4th degree, a felony domestic assault - 3rd degree, a felony domestic assault 2nd degree and a misdemeanor domestic assault.
The Kennett Police Department said Fisher was immediately placed on administrative leave when they learned of the investigation.
The Dunklin County Sheriff's Department then arrested Fisher on the morning of June 26.
The Kennett Police Chief Kenny Wilson said, James Fisher is no longer employed by the Kennett Police Department following his arrest.
